The year preceding the April wedding was crazy. I completely underestimated the time and energy it takes to plan a wedding, honeymoon, adoption and nursery all at the same time. I don't recommend it. Something will suffer. With me, it was the wedding. I constantly had to be poked and proded by my girlfriends to tend to the wedding details. I usually hired the first vendor I met with at to save time. I waited until I had less than 5 months to pick out a dress. I assumed I would revel in making the various decisions to plan a wedding. But I didn't. I had other things on my mind. Like social worker visits, authenticating documents and collecting paperwork for our dossier. As planned, our dossier was sent to the agency the week before the wedding. Paperchase be gone! I can relax and enjoy my wedding and honeymoon.
Our April wedding was everything we wanted it to be. The ceremony in a small sanctuary in town was beautiful. Our reception was enjoyed by most, if not all. After the year of planning and hustling to complete the dossier, it was time to decompress. We were going to Disney!
